Weekend Video

I LOVE this video! Mostly because cell phones are my BIGGEST pet peeve! (Yes, even ahead of extreme environmentalists and owners who put clothing on their animals.) I have always been of the opinion that unless you are a Doctor waiting for a heart to come in via beer cooler so you can transplant it, cell phones should be there for when you need them, not every waking minute of the day!

So next time you see someone being annoying cell phone guy, hopefully there is an open hole in the ground and a squirrel ready to pounce on him and teach him a lesson. (Or girl, this is one of those things that aren’t limited to gender. In fact, the female may be even a worse offender.)

****UPDATE****

Just to be clear, I do believe cell phones are great to have. The only time they bug me is when people do not practice proper cell phone etiquette, like the bozo in the video. And that also goes for texting on cell phones too! (Actually, texting is worse, but the video is some goober making a call, not texting.)

Donald, Donald, Donald, Even though I partially agree with you, you know perfectly well that there are more times when it's handy to have a cell phone on you, than being a Dr waiting for a frozen heart.
That day I had my accident, which also happened to be the ONE time I didn't have my cell with me was horrible. It's not easy or fun to have to ask the people you just collided with if you could use their cell phone to call your DIL to let her know that you aren't going to be able to pick up Lorelai from PreSchool after all.
I do agree that too many people use them way too often, but I don't. In fact I never seem to have a call that lasts longer than 2 minutes. As soon as I either get or give the information the call was about I am off.

You have to remember though mother, the accident would not have happened if you had not chosen to pass somebody using the left hand turn lane.

What I am aiming at is the amount of people that use their phones when they shouldn't. Such as in the middle of having conversations with other people, or when they are engaged with something else.

I think that it's nice to be unreachable for a while. I don't want people bothering me 24/7....there's freedon in that.

I like the D.R. Sorenson family way of doing things...we have a cell phone....but it doesn't get turned on except for extreme situations. And I am SO glad that we don't have an extra bill every month.

I also find it interesting that people don't think that they could live without them when a few years back they didn't even exist.

Yes, there are times when a cell phone is needed...and when those times come I will flag down the nearest person and kindly ask to borrow their's.....because chances are 99% that they have one.

Love you Donald....always....and don't forget it buster! :)

Donald, I'm well aware that I caused the accident, I don't dispute that at all. I mentioned it because everything was made worse by the fact that I didn't have my phone to call Lisa. It was YOUR child who was going to feel the impact of, no one there to pick her up, if I couldn't call Lisa. That is the main reason you two got your track phone after all was to have in case of emergency.

bahahahahahaaa!!! the comments, today, are much better than your post (take no offense). the s's just crack me up, BIG:D
personally, i have a love/hate relationship with cell phones. i don't like to "be on call 24/7", being called and expected to answer at inappropriate/inconvenient times, nor conversing with someone else when he/she receives a call... HATE 'EM!!!
however, i love the security they provide!!! i like having mine with me even if i'm just driving a block away to the grocery store...
LOVE 'EM!!!
i guess that means that i totally agree with ALL the s's today:P

Donald, I'm annoying cell phone guy and proud of it. I don't have it because I think I need it, but because I love it. While I do admit it's addictive and I do agree with Lisa that it is extremely nice to not have it every once in a while, you can always find me with mine in my hand, texting or playing a stupid game. But to me its no different than Facebook, Wii or any other superfluous piece of technology, it is just another form of entertainment. And I definitely have some bad cell phone habits that I need to keep in check. But I NEVER forget to turn it on vibrate in a movie or church or wherever and I usually ignore it if I'm in the middle of talking to somebody. Great post though. The video is hilarious, "Yeah, I can talk." Hahahaha oh man. Classic!

PS I would bet my next paycheck that I can drive through an obstacle course while talking on the phone better than anybody out there... provided there aren't any turns. I can change lanes, slow down and speed up. But if I have to turn, I miss my turn every time when I'm yappin' on the phone. Then I usually can't decide, do I keep going or tell 'em I'll call 'em back. Oh what a pickle!
