Memory Blog (Wasn't my last blog about memories too??)

I have seen this on countless other blogs, and I decided that I wanted to get in on the action. So, I am doing the memory blog post. You know how it works. You leave me a comment about a memory that you have that includes me somehow. It can be anything. Someone who only reads my blog, you could tell me what one of your favorite posts are. Or even a comment that I left you. And I know that I have called out these people before, but I would like to see something from the blog stalkers that I have. You know who you are Mr. and Mrs. Blog Stalkers! Show me the money...errr....I mean memory! I would love to see them. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

And look for my birthday blog this Tuesday, August 5th, when I list 31 things about me that you may not know. Fun huh? Until then, get those memories a flowin'!

I remember when Alexandra was born and you were completely and instantly in love with her. You kept saying how beautiful she was and calling everyone you could possibly think of. We have built a wonderful life together and this is just one of millions of happy memories :) I love you.

Thank you Lisa. I love you too!

Probably the time you told me about you living in your parents back yard shed. I was fascinated by the whole thing. I couldn't believe how you had this pad of your own for so many years. Then when it was cold, you would move back into your house and then go back out. I was like WOW...

Ok...so my memory of you echos the memory you left of me on my blog. I remember having a class with you and I believe Don Hatch and Jeff Smith (?) Anywho..I just remember laughing and laughing in that class, however, I did not realize that you guys were probably mostly laughing at my gullability, ha ha, but hey - it was a good time anyway, right? By the way, who was our teacher for that class? I think it was a health class or something. I swear when I had kids I lost half of my memory. It's really annoying :)

My favorite memory is when you brought over some Don-salsa. Oh, wait- that never happened??? Darn.

My favorite post, I think, was the "meeting Lisa post". Very intriguing, I love hearing how people met.

Well seeing as in May I wrote two long posts about you, I guess I can just refer everyone to them for some hilarious memories of Donald. They are titled "One more thing" and "Just in time for Mother's day"
I also remember when you were probably six you went to sit on Santa's lap at the mall and the entire time you had your finger up your nose just digging away. It was so incredibly embarrassing. The worst of it though was that Santa kept telling you to not pick your nose like that and you just kept right on doing it. I don't know why I was so mortified other than the thought that Santa kept looking at me like "This is your kid???"

I like how you and your dear wife always comment on each other's blogs.
It is so good to hear people still love each other.

I remember, of course, all our elementary years, and we were always in the same class. You always had those cool Reebok shoes. You know, the white ones with green Reebok writing. I was always so jealous of those shoes because I always had ProWings.

Oh, and I also remember that killer meal you made the other night. Damon couldn't beleive how good that tri tip was. He doesn't eat that well very often, as I hate cooking!

And of course your dirty lib. comment on my blog. That certainly made me chuckle!

Wow, so many memories... Without a doubt, the many (and I really do mean MANY) "POWERBARFS" - the most extreme of which, I think was the day after Thanksgiving...

Or when you had your probe, and I had a CD Burner at work (back somewhere around 1998, when CD Burners were still somewhat rare) and you had asked me to burn you a custom CD. I remember giving it to you at some family BBQ at a park, and you immediately went and got in the probe, rolled the windows down and cranked it up...

And I even remember that the first song was "The Way" by Fastball.

Mike -

I was so hoping that your memory would be the power barf.(s)

When I posted this, I just knew that is what you would say. One of the infamous moments in our family history!

I posted a blog with all our favorite items now that we are parents. One of the items I featured is our mini van. You made a comment making fun of us for driving a mini van...then ended it with "oh wait, we do too, never mind!" That made me laugh. Every once in awhile when I'm driving our van I think about that comment and smile and I imagine how much cooler I would look in a convertible mustang. :o)

I remember the first time I heard you say you only wanted to have girls, and Jason and I were like, "Really? Why not?" And you said because you WERE a little boy and that you were a butt-head so you didn't want a boy because they were ALL butt-heads! It still makes me laugh. (And you've been lucky! Someone up there was listening!)

I remember we went hot-tubbing with Holli at her boyfriend's house & then watched a movie. And we hung out with Thane a lot too--(good ole Singles Branch days) my memory is so bad from having kids-I don't remember much about high school. Did we have seminary together?

Only one? That's bullsh-- sorry.

1. I remember going on a blind date with you in your "pimp pad". It was when you were dating Dana and Dana's friend needed a date. So we watched movies in your 'rents backyard. Also, my date was pregnant. Thanks Don.

2. The first time I ever hookie-bobbed on the back of a bumper on icey roads was winter time in the ghettos of East Kennewick near your house. It was your friend with the red 2 wheel drive Nissan or Mazda pickup.

3. Seeing you and the beautiful Lisa at the Moore Mansion getting hitched.

4. Playing video games at your house with you and Kelly and hanging out with your cool Mom and wondering why I never knew the Brinkerhoff side of the family till my teens.

5. This could get long... okay, 4 is enough.

6. Nevermind. Watching movies at Doreen and Reeds with you and Marshall and Damon and Levi and BLUE DARTS! YEAAAAAAH!!!

I remember when you and I were out shopping and Jason paged me(on my old school pager) because he was back from CA, I freaked out from being so excited and so you took me to his house so I could see him. As you demonstrated to Jason and his parents my jumping up and down reaction, his big 160 pound dog bit you cuz you scared him. LOL!

Ok, I got a few. I remember when we were like 3 years old in nursery in the Buntin Building and you got mad at me because I called you Donald Duck. We then got in a fistfight -- I swung, you ducked & all in one motion roundhouse kicked me in the face. True story, all except the part about fistfighting. Another one is when we went with Bro. Graff's dirt bikes out in the desert for a priests' activity & I saw you go flying over a sand dune 30 foot drop off, which ended up with you getting your shins gouged to the bone by the jagged foot rests. Ah, the memories... Too bad you didn't have someone videotaping all the crazy accidents -- you could've trumped Jacka$$ & the rest of those types of shows.
